The piper in peacetime

 The Military Vehicle Trust

Events diary here.

Absorb the atmosphere of the type of event held by the MVT.

It is not suggested that this or any pictures here are approved by the MVT.

Header picture source Jeep to the right - source.

Searched here. Another search - tank pic below - source.

One dimension of how this page is dealt with on the Events page is for me to hide it. The URL link on the Events page would show this page only to readers of the Events page. That leaves it available to the general reader. If that is not the MVT wish, send the link by email to members only. With that outcome, MVT can still have a page here and we can discuss its content.

Thanks.

All these are here for testing, otherwise you keep going to this page.

Perhaps try something like these ready for pasting. Perhaps paste the whole lot, and see if anything works:

Prof Alan Harrison is a WW1/2 re-enactment Cameron Highlander piper who hopes to support more MVT events. Read all about it here.

If nothing works when posted, try:

Text on this colour background to be removed when discussion is over. The other panels will then spread across the page.

I hope to explore with MVT officials

  1. The ideas on this page and the war website,
  2. Use of the MVT logos.

I have supported numerous MVT events as a piper and, this year, Phil Palmer has asked me again:

25th-27th August

Tanks Trucks & Firepower Show Dunchurch near Rugby, Warwickshire.

For the 3rd year Birmingham & West Mids MVT and the Alvis Fighting Vehicles Society put on a huge display of soft skin and armoured vehicles. Stalls to suit all, beer tent, food stalls, toilets and hot showers. Two arenas for displays including firepower demonstrations by CVRT's and Challenger I tank on all three days. See Tanks Trucks and Firepower website to book in online or go to hippo1944@hotmail.com for entry forms. Contact Phil Palmer 01922 406 043.

Another event supported last year was in Redhill, Surrey.

The picture (Redhill & Reigate Life) shows him piping Santa into a British Legion WW2-themed fund-raising event in Cameron Highlander re-enactment uniform. He met Santa on his arrival by helicopter and they are en route to the arena of the event near Redhill, Surrey. He is closely involved with Royal British Legion in Ross-on-Wye and is setting up this website.

That text is here with a picture.

The reason for contacting MVT is to request an announcement that I can help in many ways at events this year.
